Kids Shoe Size Converter

Children's sizes across US, UK and EU for baby, toddler and youth — plus the youth-to-women's/men's continuation when kids outgrow the range.

Tip: measuring your foot in cm or inches is the most accurate starting point — see how to measure. Conversions between named size systems are approximate by nature.

How this conversion works

Kids scales end at 13.5 and continue into adult numbering — a US youth 6 equals a US women's 8 (add ~2) or a men's 7 (add ~1). The converter keeps youth and adult grids separate but reports the continuation where ranges overlap.

Children's feet grow in quarter-size jumps and charts are rounded, so kids conversions are the most approximate we publish. Measuring foot length every few months beats carrying a size number forward between brands and countries.

Common questions

What comes after kids size 13.5?

Youth sizing ends and adult sizing begins. A child in US youth 13.5 moves to roughly a women's 1.5–2 or takes a men's 1. The converter shows the continuation automatically.

How do youth sizes convert to women's?

Add about 2 to the youth size: youth 6 ≈ women's 8. For men's, add about 1. Converting through measured foot length is more reliable than either offset.

How much growing room should kids shoes have?

About a thumb's width (roughly 1 cm) beyond the longest toe. More than that causes tripping; less gets outgrown within weeks.
